In Memory of Sally

One At A Time

Each day an old man walked along the beach, picking up starfish, that had been washed up on the shore by the tide, and threw them back into the sea..

One day a young boy stopped the old man and asked Why do you throw the Starfish back into the sea? It dosent matter. They will only wash up on the shore tomorrow. The Old Man bent over, picked up another and threw it as far as he could into the sea, and replied... it made a difference to that one.

Sally - The Scottsburg Airport Dog

Sally The Airport Dog

I've got some sad news .... Oct 23, 2007

I've got some sad news to send on to those of you that have been around the Scottsburg Airport for some time .....

No matter what day of the week or time of were always greeted by "Sally" the airport dog. .

She has been directing planes to the taxi way for 17 years, with little more than a smile and an occasional pat on the head. Wheather Larry was there or gone, Sally would always come over to see " who you were & what are your doing"? Then she'd go on about her way..unless you felt like petting her on the neck ..or "what ya' got in the bag..? food?

Well time takes it's toll on all of us and dogs are no exception. Sally's health had been replaced by "old age" and she has gone hill all year long. Unfortunately, she had gotten so bad that she was in constant pain and discomfort. Larry did the painful, but honorable thing and "Sally" was put to sleep yeasterday.

I'm sure that she'll be greatly missed.. not only by Larry, but by a lot of pilots and friends that have gone through there in the past .. 17 years.
